When a concussion injury results in the victim being completely unable to work in any type of gainful employment Minnesota’s Worker’s Compensation Law provides for weekly benefits to retirement age. WHAT IS THE REITREMENT AGE? WHAT ABOUT LUMP SUM?
Proof of the complete inability to return to work typically requires supporting evidence in the form of vocational and medical doctor opinions. This happens when a Concussion has such severe symptoms that working becomes impossible.
Note: If the concussion injury prevents the employee from returning to any job that pays at the same rate as before the injury but the employee is able to perform other work at a lesser rate of pay, the difference in pay will be reimbursed as a temporary or permanent partial disability benefit
